Poetry for the Woods is in support of saving the UNCA Woods. UNC Asheville\u2019s 45-acre urban forest has been a cherished community resource and wildlife habitat for decades. It\u2019s now under threat of development, despite its status as one of the last remaining urban forests in Asheville.

We gathered in the urban forest to develop connection with the woods and generate awareness around saving them through poetry. We had featured poets share there poems and we began writing poems while in the woods and shared those, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Poetry for the Woods Collection is a compilation of poems inspired by saving the woods, preserving nature, and being in connection with the earth. Submit your poem! Due June 1st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
